How Do Porcelain Veneers Work?
Our dentists at Elegant Smiles will determine if you are a good candidate for veneers by checking your overall oral health. Ideal candidates should not have signs of gum disease, dental decay, or habitual teeth grinding and jaw clenching (called bruxism). Our doctors will begin by taking photos and impressions for a diagnostic wax-up, which will simulate the proposed final look of your veneers in wax. You will sit down with one of our doctors to choose the specific teeth shapes and style that you desire. The wax-up is used to aid in fabricating the temporaries that you will receive on the day of preparation. Once the cosmetics of the wax-up have been reviewed and approved by both the patient and the doctor, we will begin to make room for the porcelain veneers by preparing a little bit of enamel from the front of your teeth. Sometimes, no preparation is needed.
Our experienced doctors are trained to create gorgeous and natural-looking veneers with minimal prep dentistry, and we accomplish this by working together with an experienced cosmetic laboratory. The laboratory fabricates ceramic and color-matching veneers so natural, that it will look like you had nothing done. Your veneers should be cleaned daily with regular brushing and flossing. While cosmetic veneers are more resistant to stains compared to natural enamel, you should still stay away from staining drinks and foods to keep your smile bright. To prevent harming your veneers, you shouldn't chew on hard objects, such as your fingernails or ice. I messaged her directly, and she got my husband in to see her husband that same day!My husband was in so much pain that they had to numb him multiple times before they could extract the tooth. He came home swollen all the way up to his eye because the infection had spread down to the roots. My husband absolutely HATES going to the dentist, but he didn’t have a single negative thing to say about his experience.The front office staff was also incredible. Since we don’t have physical insurance cards, they had to call and get all of our information, and they handled everything without giving us any hassle.I will admit, when you look at their website it can seem a little intimidating and very high-end. Their office is beautiful, and they absolutely offer high-end cosmetic services. But don’t let that scare you away if you’re simply looking for an emergency tooth extraction or general dental care. They offer a wide variety of services for all kinds of dental needs.Dr. Phan was absolutely amazing, and we’re so thankful we found this office.
